Kindergarten

Kindergartens offer a 1-2 year pre-school program for children before they enter primary school. It is not compulsory to send your child to Kindergarten; however it does help children to develop their social, mental and physical skills in preparation for school.

Some Kindergarten programs are integrated into normal day long child care. Many childcare centres offer both 3 and 4 year old programs. Other centres only offer sessional Kindergarten programs, which run 8-12 hours a week split across 2-3 sessions.

If you are interested in putting your child through the Kindergarten program, we recommend you contact and visit the centres and ask lots of questions, so that you are happy with the program they offer and put your name on the waiting list as soon as you can.
